Move-out cleanout

The movers take what you are keeping. We take the rest: the old sofa, the broken dresser, the garage pile and the boxes you never unpacked. You hand over the keys to an empty place.

What we take

  • Furniture, mattresses and appliances you are not taking
  • Boxes, bags and loose clutter from every room
  • Garage, patio and storage-closet contents
  • Broken items the movers refused
  • Carpet remnants, shelving and leftover building material
  • Tenant leave-behinds, for landlords and property managers

What we cannot take

  • Paint, chemicals, fuel and propane tanks
  • Anything the lease says must stay, such as fitted appliances

Not sure about an item? Ask when you book. Your local crew will tell you before the day.

How move-out cleanout is priced

A move-out is priced by how full the truck is at the end, from a single item to a full truck. One room of leftovers is usually a quarter truck. A whole apartment of leftovers is about a half truck. A packed house or garage can run to a full truck. The crew confirms the price before loading.

LoadRoughlyPrice
Single itemOne sofa, one fridge or one mattress$99–$149

Before we arrive

  • Separate what stays from what goes, or walk the crew through it room by room.
  • Book for after the movers, so the crew can see the real leftover pile and price it once.
  • Tell us the move-out date and any gate code or elevator booking so the crew arrives inside your window.

Where it goes

Furniture and goods in good condition are offered to local charities and resale stores where one near you takes them. Everything else goes to the transfer station.

Good to know in Texas

Leases in Texas turn over heavily in summer, and apartment offices often charge for anything left in the unit. A crew booked for the day before you hand back the keys is cheaper than a cleaning charge taken from your deposit.

Move-out cleanout questions

Can you come on moving day?

Yes, and the best slot is after the movers have loaded, so the crew sees exactly what is left and prices it once. Tell us your moving window when you book.

Do you take everything, or do I have to sort first?

Show the crew what goes and they take it. If you want things kept, set them aside or tell the crew as they go. Sorting into keep and go before they arrive makes the job faster.

Can my landlord or property manager book for a unit I left?

Yes. Property managers book move-out cleanouts for units every week. The crew sends photos before and after when nobody from the office can be there.

Will you clean the apartment too?

The crew removes everything you point to and sweeps up where it was. Deep cleaning, such as carpets and kitchens, is a cleaner's job; we clear the way for them.

How far ahead should I book a move-out cleanout?

A few days ahead is enough most of the year. At the end of a month, and in May through August, the move-out days fill up first, so book as soon as you know the date.
