Furniture removal
One sofa or a whole house of furniture: the crew carries it out from wherever it sits, down stairs and around corners, and loads it. You do not drag anything to the curb.
What we take
- Sofas, sectionals, recliners and armchairs
- Dining tables, chairs and sideboards
- Dressers, wardrobes and bookcases
- Bed frames, headboards and box springs
- Desks, filing cabinets and office chairs
- Patio furniture and outdoor sets
What we cannot take
- Furniture soaked in chemicals or fuel
- Items with bed bugs unless bagged and told to us first
Not sure about an item? Ask when you book. Your local crew will tell you before the day.
How furniture removal is priced
Furniture is priced by the space it takes in the truck. One sofa is usually a single-item or 1/8 truck job. A bedroom set is about 1/4 truck. A whole living room runs 1/2 truck or more. Taking a piece apart first, such as a sectional or a bunk bed, is included.
| Load | Roughly | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | One sofa, one fridge or one mattress | $99–$149 |
| 1/8 truck | About a pickup-truck bed: a few pieces of furniture | $179–$249 |
| 1/4 truck | A small room, or a spare bedroom's furniture | $299–$379 |
| 1/2 truck | A one-car garage, or a small move-out | $449–$529 |
| 3/4 truck | A full basement or a two-car garage | $549–$649 |
| Full truck | A whole-house cleanout or estate clear-out | $649–$799 |
Prices are set by each local GoneDay location. The crew looks at the load and confirms the price before they start. Read the full pricing guide.
Before we arrive
- Clear a path to the door. The crew brings blankets and door protection.
- Empty drawers and shelves so pieces are safe to carry.
- Tell us about stairs, elevators or a long carry when you book so the price is right the first time.
Where it goes
Good pieces are offered to local charities and resale stores where one near you takes them. Worn-out pieces go to the transfer station. Your local crew can tell you what happened to yours.
Good to know in Texas
Many Texas cities collect bulky items only on a set schedule, often once a month or by appointment. A GoneDay pickup is for when you do not want to wait for that date or carry a sofa to the curb in August.
Furniture removal questions
How much does it cost to remove a sofa?
A single sofa is priced as one item or an eighth of a truck, whichever is less. The exact price depends on your local GoneDay location and is confirmed with you before anything is lifted.
Do I need to be home?
Someone over 18 needs to be there to show the crew what goes and to confirm the price. For curbside or garage pickups with payment on file, ask your local crew about leaving items out.
Can you take furniture from an upstairs apartment?
Yes. Stairs, elevators and long walks from the door are part of the job. Tell us when you book so the arrival window allows for it.
Will you take apart a bed or a sectional?
Yes. The crew brings basic tools and takes apart bed frames, sectionals and desks when they do not fit through a door.
Can you take a sleeper sofa or a sofa with a metal frame?
Yes. Sleeper sofas are heavy and are priced as a larger item because they take more truck space and are harder to carry. Say it is a sleeper when you book.
