Hot tub removal
A hot tub weighs 400 to 900 pounds empty and rarely fits back through the gate it came in. The crew cuts it into sections where it sits, carries the pieces out, and leaves the pad swept.
What we take
- Acrylic and fibreglass hot tubs
- Inflatable and rotomolded spas
- Swim spas, in two visits if needed
- Hot tub covers, steps and cover lifters
- The pump, heater and control box
What we cannot take
- In-ground spas built into a pool deck
- Gazebos or decks around the tub, unless booked as a separate demolition job

How hot tub removal is priced
Hot tubs are priced as a job, not by truck space, because cutting and carrying is most of the work. The price is confirmed on site once the crew sees the tub and the route out. Swim spas and tubs that need a crane are quoted separately.
| Load | Roughly | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | One sofa, one fridge or one mattress | $99–$149 |
| 1/8 truck | About a pickup-truck bed: a few pieces of furniture | $179–$249 |
| 1/4 truck | A small room, or a spare bedroom's furniture | $299–$379 |
| 1/2 truck | A one-car garage, or a small move-out | $449–$529 |
| 3/4 truck | A full basement or a two-car garage | $549–$649 |
| Full truck | A whole-house cleanout or estate clear-out | $649–$799 |
Prices are set by each local GoneDay location. The crew looks at the load and confirms the price before they start. Read the full pricing guide.
Before we arrive
- Drain the tub the day before. A garden hose on the drain valve or a cheap submersible pump does it in an hour.
- Have the power disconnected at the breaker and, for hard-wired tubs, the line capped by an electrician.
- Clear a 3-foot path from the tub to the street.
Where it goes
The acrylic shell goes to the landfill. The metal frame, pump and heater go to scrap metal recycling.
Good to know in Texas
Texas hot tubs die from the sun as much as from age: the cover and shell crack after years of 100-degree summers. If you are replacing it, book the removal for the morning and the new tub can land on a clean pad the same day.
Hot tub removal questions
How do you get a hot tub out of a backyard?
The crew cuts it into four to six sections with a reciprocating saw, carries the pieces through the gate or side yard, and loads them. Fences, gates and pool decks stay as they are.
Does the hot tub need to be drained first?
Yes. Please drain it before the crew arrives. If you cannot, say so when booking and the crew brings a pump, which adds time to the job.
Do you disconnect the electrical?
No. A hard-wired 240-volt line must be disconnected and capped by an electrician before the crew cuts the tub. A plug-in tub just needs to be unplugged.
How long does hot tub removal take?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes from arrival to a swept pad.
Can you remove the deck or gazebo around it?
Yes, as a separate light demolition job. Mention it when booking and the crew quotes it with the tub.
